Managed Hosting is essentially a service offered by Webdev that takes the technical knowledge required to operate and maintain an internet facing server out of the hands of the client, and makes it Webdev’s responsibility. Managed hosting services ONLY include management of the VPS server itself, and not the website or web application running on the server
on our Managed Hosting platform - we do not provide or grant admin or root access to the client. From a security perspective - we grant access only to the Webdev SysAdmin’s - that means even content for website uploads need to be sent to Webdev for the uploading process.
An unmanaged VPS is one where after a client purchased the service, we create the Virtual server, install an Operating System (Debian, CentOS, Ubuntu, or Alma | Windows Server 2012 / 2016 / 2019 etc) and then immediately hand over Administrator /SSH / Root logins of the VPS to the client.
